LEGAL REQUIREMENTS FOR GETTING MARRIED IN MEXICO

  • Valid passport
  • Original and certified copy of birth certificates
  • Certified copy of Divorce Decree or Death certificate
  • Legal documentation of adoption or name change with an apostille document if applicable.
  • Parent's written consent if under 18 years of age
  • Four witnesses with passports over the age of 18years
  • Original prenuptial medical certificate with blood test
  • Bride and groom must arrive at least 3 days prior to the wedding.

All of these documents must be translated in Spanish by a certified translator and notarized. For further details and to verify it is always best to check with the Consulate or Embassy.
